Startupbootcamp wins Best Accelerator category of The Europas 2014!
Well, it sure has been an amazing 24 hours.
Starting with an energized gathering of the Startupbootcamp MD family on the banks of the Bosphorus at Startupbootcamp Istanbul’s new home, and now returning to learn Startupbootcamp has won The Europas 2014 Best Accelerator award. We truly couldn’t be happier. The real heros of the day are each one of our unbelievable mentors, alumni, sponsors, partners and investors. It’s you we have to thank for bringing Startupbootcamp from humble Copenhagen beginnings in 2010 to the global acceleration force it is today.
One word in my mind summarizes what Startupbootcamp has grown to be. Family. We are a family of world-class startup accelerator programs that support each other as we iterate unbelievably fast to continually increase our value to startups. We are a family of startups, with 139 Startupbootcamp alumni now circling the globe and disrupting industries from silicon chip design to parenting. We are a family of super value-add mentors, who dedicate their free time to giving back and inspiring the next generation of global business leaders.
Startupbootcamp’s global ecosystem of 2500 individuals has come together to form a global family with one overarching goal – to help startups succeed. But we’re not done just yet. We’ll run 8 Startupbootcamp programs across 7 cities in Europe and the Middle East this year. For 2015 we’ve already announced the San Francisco Smart Transportation & Energy program, and look for at least 3 additional programs across other continents as well. Expansion isn’t easy. We’ll continue our ethos of incredible entrepreneurs running Startupbootcamp programs that focus on specific industries. Each program will continue to include many of the world’s largest and most respected partners from within their industry. We believe our model works and we’re doubling down on it. The numbers speak for themselves. Even though an average Startupbootcamp company was accelerated less than two years ago, 72% have already raised over €467,000 each. We publish our source stats both because we believe in transparency and we’re damn proud of them.
So with that, thanks again to everyone who’s touched a Startupbootcamp program over the last 4 years. Your contributions don’t go unnoticed. We have shared blood, sweat, and tears – and Startupbootcamp couldn’t have achieved this much without you.
Thanks from the entire Startupbootcamp Family! #sbcFamily

After running the Startupbootcamp NFC & Contactless Interactions Program in Amsterdam, I split my time between the Amsterdam office as Head of Operations and the Global Team as Program Specialist. In Amsterdam I trained and coached the Operations Managers and took charge of most non-program specific operations. At the Global office I coached all COO’s cross-program and established the culture of knowledge-sharing, exchanging ideas, and comparing experiences. Monthly conference calls and masterclasses were set up, individual coaching sessions and semi-yearly gatherings in one of the offices in Europe.
