A change of scenery…

Dear colleagues and Startupbootcamp friends,

In a long and dusty taxi–ride between Camaguey and Havana, Cuba, Wouter and I decided it was time for a radical change. We bought a house, we got engaged, it all seemed logical to settle down and relax for a bit. However, with two entrepreneurial spirits and tons of lessons learned at the leading startup accelerator of Europe, we decided different. We’re moving to Asia tonight!

So after 1,5 years of working at Startupbootcamp it’s time for me to say goodbye. There can’t be any doubt that this period has been an amazing adventure for me. I’ve learned tons, worked with great people, alongside future hero’s and biked to the office with a smile on my face – every single day.

In the months I’ve worked at Startupbootcamp we’ve done some pretty amazing things, we won the Europas Award for Best Accelerator, launched 7 new accelerator programs (of which 2 in Amsterdam), we’ve made big steps within SBC Global to enhance the bonds between the different SBC Programs and continue to attract amazing startups who are becoming true stars!

I’d like to thank everybody for sharing this amazing experience with me and I wish Startupbootcamp all the best for the years to come!

I’m planning to combine my two passions “entrepreneurship & international development”, in some kind of social impact startup or program, depending on people and opportunities crossing my road. If you know any people on the ground (Singapore & Bali for now) who I should talk to for inspiration and/or opportunities, introductions are always welcome. You can reach out to me via mgosker@gmail.com.

All the best and Happy New Year!

Six weeks after that taxi-ride in Cuba, we boarded a plane that brought us to Bali, the starting point of our Asian adventure. In Ubud we did an intensive language-course at Bahasa Indonesia language school (where Timothy Ferriss, author of the 4-hour work week studied as well). After four weeks we moved down to Singapore where I established the Singaporean arm of my personal holding Aprhilis PTE LTD.
